DOH Licensure for Massage Therapy Review


Calling all Spa Owners, Massage therapists, Spa Therapists, NC-2 Passers from TESDA and Enthusiasts!!! We are Open for Registration for our Department of Health Massage Therapy Licensure Review Program for June and December Exams. Promo Review fee is P8,500 only. 


We also accept inhouse training in your spas. For your knowledge, here are some information on how to be a DOH Licensed Massage Therapists in the Philippines.


Qualification of Applicants
1. He/she must be a Filipino citizen, at least eighteen (18) years of age at the time of the examination;
2. He/she must be of good moral character certified by the Barangay Captain of the community where the applicant resides;
3. He/she must submit a certification or clearance from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) or provincial fiscal indicating that he/she is not convicted by the court of any case involving moral turpitude;
4. He/she must submit a medical certificate from any government physician that he/she is physically and mentally fit to take the licensure examination;
5. He/she must be at least a high school graduate;
6. He/she must submit a certificate of training from any Department of Health accredited training provider the he/she has taken practical massage for at least sixty (60) hours;
7. He/she must submit a certificate of training from any Department of Health accredited training institution the he/she had received basic instructions on the following:
Anatomy and Physiology (General and Organ System Physiology)
Microbiology and Pathology
Massage Therapy I (Fundamentals of Massage Therapy)
Massage Therapy II (Massage Therapy Application)
Massage Therapy III (Practice of Massage Therapy)


Application and Examination Fee
Applicants must submit to the committee secretariat the prescribed application form duly accomplished and notarized and accompanied by three (3) copies of passport-sized photograph taken within the last six (6) months;
1. Applicants shall pay an examination fee in the amount prescribed by the Department of Health Committee of Examiners for Massage Therapy; and
2. The application form and examination fee, including the necessary requirements stated above, shall be filed two (2) weeks before the examination date in order for the applicant to be included in the list of examinees.


Scope of Examination
The examination shall be conducted in two (2) parts: theoretical and oral/practical. The theoretical examination shall be conducted in writing and shall comprise basic questions based on the prescribed curriculum. The oral/practical examination shall consist of three (3) phases: (1) Pre-Massage Phase (2) Massage Proper and (3) Post Massage Phase.


Passing Average
1. Only those who have passed the theoretical examination shall qualify for the oral/practical examination. 
2. All examinees who have passed the theoretical examination shall take the oral/practical examination within one (1) month after official advice, otherwise, the result of the theoretical examination shall be deemed cancelled. He/she shall pay the fee prescribed the Department of Health.
3. For an examinee the pass the examination successfully, he/she must obtain a general average of 75% in the theoretical examination and a general average of 75% in the oral/practical examination.
