Reflexology Therapy Scholarship Program

Description: This is a 4-5 months non formal education training of Reflexology Therapy. It includes topics on important anatomical Landmarks, Massage Principles, Ethics & Value Formation for Massage Therapy, Therapeutic Body Massage and other supportive therapy. This will provide basic knowledge, skills and moral values for massage students who wish to learn proper techniques on these modalities.

PROGRAM OUTLINE

     A.   THEORETICAL / ACTUAL SUBJECTS:

  1: Orientation

 2-5: Holistic Healing / Introduction to Massage Therapy / Ear Reflexology / Hand Reflexology / Foot Reflexology / Chair Massage

 6-10: Facial Reflexolgy / Dagdagay Therapy / Aromatherapy / Iris Analysis

11-15: Acupressure Therapy / Supplemental Acupuncture / Ear Acu Detox / Cupping Therapy

16-18: Swedish Gymnastics / Therapeutic Body Massage

Massage Missions / Outreach Activities (10 Participations)

Apprenticeship in a Spa/Massage Clinic (100 hrs)

     B.   QUALIFYING EXAMS:
     1. The students should PASSED the exams from all practical demonstration conducted by the trainers.
     2. After passing the exams, the students will be assessed by the Training Director regarding their competencies for Practicum level.
     3. They will performed the following in each competencies:
   4. They will be allowed to the Practicum level only, if they PASSED the standards on the Training Director.
  
     C.   PRACTICUM LEVEL:
    1.    The students must attend and participate the 100 hours Practicum Level Program.
     2.    The students will be given instructions and participate on the Massage clinic set-up while in the practicum level by the supervisor in charge of the affiliate centers. In the center, they should assess and study the set-up of the center for their professional growth and development.
     3.    They must follow the supervisor in charge provided they are on Massage clinic standards and operations.
     4.    The center may provide standards that may help the progress of the massage trainees efficiency and effectively.

     D.   OUTREACH ACTIVITIES:
     1.    During the practicum level, the students must provide at least five (5) agencies, groups, barangays, offices or institutions for the outreach activity of their group.
     2.    They should present the following: name of agency, name of owner, name of the department, complete address, emails, contact number, and contact persons (if any) to the secretariat. The center will provide a Letter of request to Outreach to be given to that student.
     3.    They should clip their finger nails and wear clean blue scrub suit uniform. No slipper, only clean leather or rubber shoes are allowed.
     4.    The five (5) outreach activities have requirements to complete. They are the following:
·         One (1) Group picture with the trainer for the 5 outreach activities presented. No other persons are allowed in the group picture.
·         One (1) Individual picture with the client/patient for the 5 outreach activities presented. No other persons are allowed in the group picture.
    5.    The students will have their own paraphernalia (70% ethyl alcohol, powder, massage oils, towels, etc.) A penalty will be given to the naughty students.

     E.   PRESENTATION OF REQUIREMENTS:
     1.    The student should organized his requirements on a short plastic envelop with the following requirements:
·         Five (5) Group pictures with the trainer for the 5 outreach activities presented
·         Five (5) Individual pictures with the client/patient for the 5 outreach activities presented
·         Certificate of Practicum / OJT (Xeroxed)
·         At least (10) Certificate of Outreach Activities (Xeroxed)
·         Handouts in Clear Book

     F.    ISSUANCE OF CERTIFICATES:
     1.    Present the complete requirements and will issue a Certificate of Completion or Certificate of Training to the students.
   2.    The center has the option to give either Certificate of Completion or Certificate of Training to the students.
